about

Continuity PressContinuity Press is an independent publishing project dedicated to documenting everyday life, personal history, and queer existence. We create zines, short publications, prints, and stickers, and facilitate personhood club, a community centered around creativity and connection. Continuity Press is based between Richmond, VA, and New York and was founded in 2023 by Madison Scharf (VCUarts BFA ‘23) and Erin Crawford (VCUarts BFA ‘23).

personhood club personhood club is a pop-up community space dedicated to slowly writing, drawing, talking, collaborating, and publishing in maintenance of our humanity and communal well being–in other words, our personhood.

Furthermore, personhood club strives to function as a third space for individuals with similar interests and life experiences. Late-stage capitalism has diminished the quality and availability of accessible third spaces while heightening the commodification of non-work or non-home-related establishments. The ability to meet people and foster connections feels restricted to spaces where participation requires payment. personhood club is Continuity Press’ response to the longing for community and the scarcity of accessible, creatively-oriented third spaces outside of academic or capitalist institutions.

personhood club takes shape through monthly creative events, but is currently on hiatus. Stay tuned for updates.
